The brothers of Axixic Masonic Lodge #31 were out in force to shore up children’s bicycles in Santa Cruz de la Soledad on Monday, June 27.
The crowd of masons-turned-bike-mechanics applied safety reflective tape, repaired, fixed flat tires and gave away new inner tubes to ensure that the 57 bicycles presented by local kids were safe to be on the streets. They were well paid in broad smiles and bashful ‘thank you’s.’
With the help of the village officials, the Tape-A-Bike, Save-A-Life program has become the local masons’ most successful community endeavor.
