Film screening of 'Only once in a lifetime' to benefit Niños Incapacitados

Longtime lakeside resident Alejandro Grattan-Dominguez is planning a benefit screening of his last movie, “Only Once in a Lifetime,” as a fundraiser for Niños Incapacitados, the local organization that provides medical and surgical care for area children. This film will be shown on Monday, November 16, 1 p.m. at the Cinemas del Lago in Bugambilas Plaza.

“Only Once in a Lifetime” was one of the first Hollywood movies set against a Mexican-American background. Premiered in 1979 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., it won the best movie award at the San Antonio, Texas, Film Festival and is included in Turner Classic Movie’s list of fine films.

“Special thanks go to David Reynoso of Cinemas del Lago,” says Grattan-Dominguez, the film’s co-producer and writer-director.  “Only with his generous participation are we able to donate all of the ticket sales to help our area’s sick kids. Niños Incapacitados has done so much for so many. I’m honored to help them help others.”

Tickets at 100 pesos are available at the theater box office. For reservations call Bev Kephart (376) 766-3940 or email This email address is being protected from spambots.
