LCS legacy art auction to boost program for kids

More than 100 works of art and collectibles will go on the block Wednesday, October 26, at the Lake Chapala Society (LCS) at a benefit auction for the organization’s long-standing Children’s Art Program.

The once-in-a-lifetime sales event will offer paintings, prints, reproductions, sculptures, pottery and ceramics, as well as masks from the private collection of the late Laurie Paul Wilson, a resident Ajijic artist who recently passed away.  She had specified in her will that she wanted the collection to be sold to generate funding to help sustain the weekly Saturday morning art workshops LCS sponsors for local kids.

The auction will have two components: a live auction with jovial artist and master salesman Efrén González welding the gavel from the east lawn stage, and a silent auction in which buyers register written bids on items displayed on the Art Mural Patio.
