Weekly Worship - September 30, 2023

Lake Chapala Baptist Church

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. (Matthew 5:14).

We are the children of God. He has told us so. When we became followers of Christ, we went from the darkness to the light and are thus the “light of the world”. We bring hope and the knowledge of salvation to others. When people see you, do they know you are Christians by the way you act? If not, why not? If our light cannot be hidden because we are set on a hill as an example, it behooves us to shine that light wide and far. Let us all show we are Christians by our love.

Worship service Sundays, 10:45 a.m.; Spanish language worship at 12:30 p.m.

Sta. Margarita 147, Riberas del Pilar. Contact: 331-608-0856.

Heritage Baptist Church

“Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever!” This is just one keepsake of wisdom gleaned from Hebrews 13 last Sunday morning.

As we mature on a spiritual level, we are to separate ourselves from the world, camped round about Christ, making Him central to our worship. There are thus two societies, the inner camp where the Lord and His people dwell, and the outer world, where dwell the godless and vulnerable, weak and corrupt.

Outside the camp, there is no hope, no God. Blind to God, the people reject Him. They have no idea what it is to know with deep assurance, “I am Thine.” They don’t experience the family of God.

What a glorious life awaits those who repent their sin and turn to Christ! Therefore, let us run to Him, and then let us go outside the camp and in our going, share the magnificent blessings of the true Gospel, with Christ at the center of all.

Heritage is a fledgling Baptist Church seeking out our eternal family. Join us  in the “Upper Room” at the Presbyterian Church in Riberas del Pilar. Sundays at 11:15 a.m.: Open prayer, then wisdom direct from the Word. Wednesdays: Bible study at 4:30 p.m. Info: HeritageBaptistChurchMexico@ gmail.com, or visit our Facebook page.

Lakeside Presbyterian Church

Sunday, October 1, Pastor Carolyn Hansen will talk about the real meaning of “eternal life.” The most famous verse in the New Testament is John 3:16, which is right in the middle of the text of our sermon this week. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” What is this eternal life? It’s really the whole good news of the gospel. And it’s so much more than “living forever.” It’s not just “going to heaven when you die.” We’ve watered down this idea so much that it’s not even good news anymore.

English-language service begins Sunday, 9:30 a.m. and also streams live at facebook.com/LPCChapala. Spanish service starts at 11 a.m.

Everyone is welcome to Wednesday drop-in Bible study at 10 a.m.

Abundant Life Church

We serve a God of both love and justice but…Which one is most important?  Come this Sunday, October 1,  as we discover the biblical relationship between the love displayed through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross and our continued need to obey and live for Him. There is no conflict between the God of the Old Testament and the God of the New. Jesus Christ (God) is the same yesterday and today and forever (Heb. 13:8). It is best that we know what God wants rather than finding out when it is too late.

Services are on the Facebook page as well as the YouTube channel. The 10:30 a.m. English services schedule is at abuntandtlifechapala.com. Bible study in English is held at 11 a.m. each Wednesday. Carretera 140, San Antonio Tlayacapan, just a block from SuperLake.
