Weekly Worship - October 07, 2023

Heritage Baptist Church

Most people make the same mistake: believing they have plenty of time to get right with God. We must not base our lives on foolish assumptions like “I have lots of time for my spiritual life, I’ll think about it later.”

If this night your soul is required, whose will your worldly possessions be? Are you busy with your worldly life? Maybe you don’t have time for God? Maybe you think you’ve got it all taken care of in that department? Are you sure?

Our lives here on earth are our greatest treasure, because what we do in this life determines our eternal future. We can fill our precious time with busyness, or we can use this precious opportunity to find a forever life in Jesus Christ. Don’t wait till your deathbed to go to the Lord. Get on your knees and cry out to Him today!

Heritage is a fledgling Baptist Church seeking out our eternal family. Join us  in the “Upper Room” at the Presbyterian Church in Riberas del Pilar. Sundays at 11:15 a.m.: Open prayer, then wisdom direct from the Word. Wednesdays: Bible study at 4:30 p.m. Info: HeritageBaptistChurchMexico@ gmail.com, or visit our Facebook page.

Lakeside Presbyterian Church

Imagine a beautiful garden, full of vibrant flowers, lush green plants, and towering trees. God creates life in the plants; he provides sunshine and rain. But the gardener has to carefully nurture, and trim, and fertilize, and weed for the true beauty to be unveiled.

Our lives are like that garden. Jesus offered the Samaritan woman Living Water; he offered her a relationship with himself. But the real beauty in her life, was revealed when she shared Jesus, whom she had just met, with others. Again and again in the Bible we see this beautiful symmetry working. God provides salvation and the power of the Holy Spirit. But then God works through us to fulfill his purpose.

It was the work of Jesus combined with the Samaritan woman’s efforts that caused many other people in the Samaritan village to believe. This was when the  real beauty was revealed. This is the Divine Partnership. Philippians 2:13 says, “for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” God works in us to produce his beauty, but we are called to do our part to complete God’s purpose.

Dr. Wayne Cook will discuss this Divine Partnership based on John 4, Sunday, October 8, at the 9:30 a.m. English language service, which also streams live at facebook.com/LPCChapala. Spanish service starts at 11 a.m.

Everyone is welcome to Wednesday drop-in Bible study at 10 a.m.

Lake Chapala Baptist Church

I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From whence shall my help come?  My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.  (Psalms 121:1-2).

How lucky are we to be here where we can look 360 degrees and still see the mountains?  We are constantly reminded of God’s beautiful promises.  He will never sleep thus leaving us alone to cope with the difficulties of our world.  He will be beside us in all our troubles and difficulties.  When we are hurting, He will carry us until we are able to walk beside Him.  “And He walks with me, and He talks with me, and He tells me I am his own.”  What more could we want?  He grants us Grace and Salvation and we do nothing to deserve it.  My help comes from the Lord.

Santa Margarita 147, Riberas del Pilar. English-language worship service is at 10:45am.  The Spanish-language worship service is at 12:30pm.  Phone 331-608-0856.

Abundant Life Church

How do you act when you are embarrassed?  Some get overly quiet while others talk too much to try to cover up.  However we respond to moments of embarrassment, it should not be displayed about our relationship with Jesus.  True as that statement is, there are still far too many silenced by the world and that silence may be interpreted as embarrassment.  Come this Sunday, October 8, as we look at embarrassment from three perspectives:  Ours, the worlds and God´s.  God has a plan to conquer embarrassment that just might surprise you.

Abundant Life Church is affiliated with the Assemblies of God of Mexico and has services for everyone.  Weekly Sunday worship services start at 10:30 a.m.
