Lake Chapala Baptist Church

And taking a child, He set him before them, and taking him in His arms, He said to them, “Whoever receives one child like this in My name does not receive Me; and whoever receive Me does not receive Me, but Him who sent Me.” (Mark 36-37)

We are fortunate in that we have multiple opportunities to take care of God’s children who are in need. There are many organizations that we can contribute our time and money to. As an example, La Ola Casa Hogar takes girls of all ages who are abused, neglected, or abandoned and gives them a loving home and an education. Mama Cleos takes in boys. They do not have electricity, water, or an adequate septic system but they have a loving and safe home. Jaltepec takes adolescent girls from poor families and trains them to have well-paying jobs in hospitality which enables them to help pull their families out of poverty. There are innumerable others we can help. Jesus tells us to help them, and we help Him. We are called to help, let’s do it.

Lakeside Presbyterian Church

Sunday, October 15, Pastor Carolyn will talk about: “I Am He” from Text - John 3:22-4:42.

Description: As we work our way through the Gospel of John, it’s a delight to see how John weaves his stories of Jesus together with such beautiful intention. The themes blend and overlap and yet always point to exactly who Jesus is and what our responsibility to Him is. This week we’ll look at how the Gospel writer links a story about a very religious Pharisee who visits Jesus at night with a Samaritan woman Jesus encounters at noon.

The English language service is at 9:30 a.m., which also streams live at facebook.com/LPCChapala. Spanish service starts at 11 a.m.

Everyone is welcome to Wednesday drop-in Bible study at 10 a.m.

If you need a ride, or more information, call 376-106-0853 before 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Heritage Baptist Church

The greatest events in history were the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. At this time the Son of God stripped the power of hell and judgement, opening the way for sinners to reconcile with God. The oppressed are set free and the oppressor, Satan, was disarmed and shamed. According to Colossians 2:15, Christ “disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.”

At the cross, God’s grace brought about the most amazing victory. Yet sometimes Christians return to the place of defeat. For many Christians their cross is too small and Christ did not destroy the one who has power over sin and death. Well, the good news is that Christ’s victory and God’s grace never ended at the cross. We see a picture of God’s continuing grace in Isaiah 35. This continuing grace we seek is revival.

Heritage is a fledgling Baptist Church seeking out our eternal family. Join us  in the “Upper Room” at the Presbyterian Church in Riberas del Pilar. Sundays at 11:15 a.m.: Open prayer, then wisdom direct from the Word. Wednesdays: Bible study at 4:30 p.m. Info: HeritageBaptistChurchMexico@ gmail.com, or visit our Facebook page.
