Chapala firefighters quelled a fire that broke out in the rear patio of a home located at Calle Zaragoza 325 on Monday, May 20.
The blaze was detected at midday when a large cloud of smoke appeared in the sky above the midtown address. The fire consumed dried leaves, plants and a tree in the unkempt 15x15 square-meter backyard garden area. No injuries were reported.
SEED BOMBS—Dozens of local kiddies relished the opportunity to turn balls of mud into seed bombs that to be dropped from the air over parts of the local mountain range during the rainy season. The aim is to replenish land that has lost foliage in recent forest fires.
