Lake Chapala Baptist Church

Jesus isn’t just talking about actions; He’s exposing the heart. Lust, betrayal, careless words, they all matter. The Spirit convicts what we cannot see, calling us to urgent, radical holiness. Cut off what causes sin, speak truth simply, love faithfully. The gospel transforms hidden desires into repentance, rebellion into restoration. The real question: “Is the Spirit shaping my heart to reflect Christ?”

The beating heart at the center of all great religions is empathy for the suffering of those around us. We will examine how we can become more compassionate as spiritual practice, a part of our everyday life.

Lakeside Presbyterian Church

Sunday, October 5, the sermon will be “When You’re Weary,” from Matthew 11:28-30.

Retired and still exhausted? It’s common here in our little “paradise.” We’re continuing our sermon series on “When Life Gets Hard.” This week, we’re talking about When You’re Weary. Weariness isn’t necessarily about physical overexertion, like when you’ve spent too long at the tianguis. You can be mentally at the end of your rope when you’ve spent too long trying to have a conversation in a language that isn’t your mother tongue. Or you can also be spiritually fatigued, when you’ve been trying hard to do God’s will and yet you don’t feel any closer to him. In the passage we’ll be studying on Sunday, Jesus promises his spiritual rest for your soul.

If you are unable to attend in person, please join us live on Facebook at lpcchapala or on YouTube at @lpcchapala.

English language service is at 10 a.m. at Constitución 26, in Ajijic, 2nd floor. Enter through the back garage area and walk upstairs. There’s also a small lift at the front. Join us for coffee and refreshments after the service.
