The Lake Chapala Society’s Intercultural Celebration: A weaving of traditions

In a world often marked by differences, the Intercultural Celebration Festival stands as a vibrant testament to the beauty and strength found in sharing cultures. October is a busy month at Lakeside, with the Day of the Dead celebration and the Lake Chapala Society’s fourth year of celebrating cultural exchange across borders.

pg15aThe celebration kicks off on Monday, October 20, with the presentation of the “Before I Die Wall” at LCS. This interactive installation invites you to write down what you want to do before you die. Many poignant thoughts are expressed on the wall. The Before I Die project has become a global movement, with over 5,000 walls in over 75 countries and 35 languages.

On Sunday, October 26, Loretta Downs, a well-known presenter on death and dying, will speak at Open Circle. Her talk is titled “How to Die Well—Ten Tips for the Living.” Arrive early to secure a seat!
