Laura Cortes presents “International Migration: Reflections on Integration and Diversity” on Sunday, February 1, 10:15 a.m., at Open Circle at the Lake Chapala Society.
Living in a new country often raises questions of belonging, identity, and connection. Laura, a Colombian researcher and PhD candidate in Social Sciences at the University of Guadalajara, explores how international migrants integrate into life in Mexico and how cultural diversity can strengthen the community. Attendees will gain perspective on integration, solidarity, and feeling at home across cultures.

Fashion benefit
A Fashion Shop benefiting the School for Special Children in Jocotepec takes place on Wednesday, February 4, 1 to 4 p.m., at the Sol y Luna complex, Rio Bravo 10-A, west end Ajijic. Like-new and gently used women’s clothing items will be available for sale. Tickets for the event are now on sale at the Fenix Real Estate office, Carretera Oriente at Calle San José, San Antonio Tlayacapan. Wine and appetizers will be served.
