Leaders of a new Democratic political group for U.S. expats, fresh from their election held this week, have settled on a beer garden inside La Bocha Argentinian restaurant for a party to introduce themselves to those interested in the Democratic party and to celebrate U.S. Independence Day. The gathering is set for Tuesday, July 4, 7 to 9 p.m. The restaurant is located on at Avenida Guadalupe 1144, Colonia Chapalita, Guadalajara.
The recently formed Guadalajara chapter of Democrats Abroad is holding elections for officers, June 27-30. If you are interested in joining and voting in the election you can become a member of Democrats Abroad by going to DemocratsAbroad.org and signup. If you do so before June 29 you can participate in the online voting on June 30. Like any high school seniors in June, those from the American School of Guadalajara are atwitter these day with graduation festivities, none more so than Natalia Velasco and Mauricio Moel, the school’s valedictorian and salutatorian.
