ANAVETS Mexico Unit #19 celebrated its fourth anniversary on Monday, September 2, with more than 80 members and guests attending a gourmet brunch buffet prepared by Scallion Ajijic Bistro at Plaza Bugambilias.
El Proyecto Pancho is a grassroots initiative providing veterinary care to pet owners in the rural lakeshore communities of Mezcala and San Pedro Itzicán. The volunteer group offers free vaccinations, parasite treatments, collars, leashes, and food supplies to the local residents.
More than 550 people attended the Rangers Texas-Style BBQ in El Salto on Saturday, August 31, for an event benefiting La Ola girls’ home in Chapala.The BBQ also celebrated Rangers 10th anniversary.
Chris Robertson, Chapala’s Bambú Warrior, is dedicated to combating global warming through the cultivation of bamboo in the Lake Chapala region. His mission includes promoting the growth of bamboo and advocating for the use of bamboo toothbrushes as an alternative to plastic.
Heart of Awareness
The Heart of Awareness Buddhist Community offers the opportunity to meditate in a supportive environment at its Practice Center (Guadalupe Victoria 101, Ajijic). Weekly practice sessions are Sundays and Wednesdays. Chairs and cushions are provided.
