Dear Sir,
I have been overwhelmed this past week and even before that by the tremendous kindness, thoughtfulness and care shown to me by the people of the Lakeside community.
Starting with this newspaper’s running of my husband Dan’s obituary, all the way through to his memorial this past Saturday, the support and help from everyone has been unbelievable.
My heartfelt thanks to the American Legion and its fantastic members for hosting the memorial, to the ladies of the Red Hat Society for their physical presence, wonderful food and touching financial tribute to Daniel, to my fellow “toilers” from the Needle Pushers for all their help and support, and, of course, to Pastor Larry Andrew for his comforting words, inspiring hymns and sensitive homily.
To all my other friends, too numerous to mention by name, a huge “Thank you.” As I said at the memorial celebration of Dan’s life, “You are my family.” I will never forget you.
