Celebrations planned for Dia del Niño

The Trompo Magico children’s museum, which marks its tenth birthday the same day, is holding a massive party on Sunday, April 28 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Along with the usual permanent and temporary exhibitions, visitors will be able to enjoy live music and dance performances, plus entertainment from clowns, acrobats and magicians, with balloons and birthday cake available for all. The Trompo Magico is located at Avenida Central 750, Zapopan. Regular opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Entry is 40 pesos.

Meanwhile, the Globo Mueso del Niño, which marks its 13th birthday on El Dia del Niño, hosts its own party on April 30, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors can watch live theater, movies and puppet shows, take part in cooking workshops and browse the exhibition of superhero comics. Located at Analco and 5 de Febrero, Unidad administrativa Reforma, the Globo Mueso del Niño is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (7 p.m. on Fridays). Entry is 11 pesos.

Elsewhere, the Museo de Paleontologia (Dr. R. Michel 520) will hold a storytelling session and a clay workshop on Saturday, April 27 from midday to 1.30 p.m. and the following day the Circus du Ballet will perform at midday at the Museo de la Ciudad (Independencia 684).

The Museo de Arte Raul Anguiano (Mariano Otero 375) will run a children’s workshop on “decoding sounds” on Tuesday, April 30, 11 a.m., while on the same day the Museo del Periodismo y las Artes Graficas (Alcalde 225) will run a workshop on illustration for stories and comics at 10.30 a.m., followed by a silkscreen printing session at 11 a.m. in which kids aged five to 12 can create their own t-shirts.
