A one-kilometer section of Guadalajara’s busiest thoroughfares, Avenida Alcalde, will be closed to traffic as of Friday, February 19 as work continues on the city’s third subway (Tren Ligero) line. The avenue will be closed between Calle Ignacio Herrera y Cairo to the south and La Glorieta Normal to the north. This will seriously affect foreigners with business at the Immigration office in the Palacio Federal on Alcalde. More than 25 bus routes are being rerouted because of the work.
