Bullfighting returns to Guadalajara’s Plaza de Toros Nuevo Progreso with the novillera season for up-and-coming toreros.
Corridos are scheduled on six consecutive Sundays, starting September 4, 5 p.m.
Each features six novice matadors taking on bulls from various ranches in Jalisco and other states.
Ticket prices had not been announced at press time. They will be available at Ticketmaster and at the bullring, either ahead of time or on the day of the bullfight.
While bullfighting is not for everyone and provokes plenty of opposition, it is a traditional and well-supported pastime in many parts of Mexico, including Jalisco.
The season ends October 9.
