Line Three subway trains in transit

The first of 18 three-carriage trains that will operate on Guadalajara’a  third subway (Tren Ligero) line has begun its long journey from Barcelona, Spain and is due to arrive in Mexico by the end of November.

The trains are being supplied by the Spanish firm Alstom, which won a 380-million-Euro contract to supply the railway systems for the 21-kilometer light rail network that will traverse the metropolitan area from Zapopan to the Tonala bus station.

The aluminium carriages are equipped with air-conditioning, closed-circuit tv and a passenger information system. Each three-sectioned train has the capacity to carry 589 passengers.
