To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of the international cinematic phenomenon, The Parade of the Galaxies, organized by the local branch one of the world’s biggest Star Wars fan clubs, Legion 501, will grace downtown Guadalajara for the first time on Saturday, May 27, 6:30 p.m. The parade will start from the intersection of Juarez and 16 de Septiembre and finish eight blocks to the east at Parque Rojo (Revolucion) at Juarez and Federalismo.
The parade, other than being a celebration of Lucas’ sci-fi brainchild, is a fundraiser for Nariz Roja, an organization dedicated to eradicating child cancer. Meanwhile, an exhibition of Star Wars memorabilia, chosen from around 1,000 pieces owned by local collectors, has opened at the Trompo Magico children’s museum in Zapopan (Av. Central 750). The display will stay up for three months.
