Cardinal spouts off again over coronavirus

Just a week after uttering some controversial observations on pandemic safety protocols, Cardinal Juan Sandoval Íñiguez, the former archbishop of Guadalajara, has put his foot in his mouth once more.

This time, he sparked the wrath of Facebook over a video he posted in which he claims evil interests lie behind the health emergency, seeking to impose a “new order” in the world, without Christ on Earth.

A Facebook warning appears on the screen before the video plays: ”This post repeats information about Covid-19 that independent fact-checkers have indicated is false.”

Since last April, Facebook has put anti-misinformation messages in the news feeds of people who have engaged with fake coronavirus stories.

Sandoval said the crisis was created by an elite group and accused Bill Gates of being the orchestrator of another coming pandemic.

Sandoval cited biblical gospels to support his statements. “In divine revelation, in the Old and New Testaments, there are mysterious words that are now beginning to be fulfilled.”

And it seems Sandoval will not be lining up for a Covid vaccine any time soon. ”The chip that they intend to put in the vaccine to keep you under control is the mark of the beast,” he said.
