Habitual speeders now face further grief after Guadalajara city hall announced that it will introduce its own speed trap operation in certain neighborhoods not covered by the state fotoinfracción network.
According to the head of Guadalajara’s Movilidad (Mobility) Department, Jesús Carlos Soto Morfín, municipal officers will be given roadside radar guns to identify speeders and issue fines. Guadalajara will work in tandem with state authorities in the program. Major avenues that will covered by the agents include La Paz and Alcalde.
