Gay Games fever mounts up

One of the most anticipated events of the year, the Guadalajara Gay Games 2023, is fast approaching, and this week organizers outlined the “Games Fest,” a series of cultural and recreational events that will go hand in hand with the sporting activities.

pg8aBetween November 2 and 11, under the auspices of the Jalisco Department of Culture, the city will host 60 activities in 19 locations. These not only include dance and music performances and exhibitions, but also film screenings, workshops and conferences on topics such as social responsibility in the LGBTQ+ community, mental health issues and sexual health.

The headquarters for the games’ cultural agenda will be the Villa Paraísa, a space located at Lerdo de Tejada 2036, in the heart of Colonia Americana, a few blocks from Avenida Chapultepec. This serves as a meeting point for everyone involved in the games, and will host workshops and cultural events, showcase Jalisco artists, and include a bazaar selling local LGBTQ+ and games merchandise, a cafe, and a “diversity” mural. There will also be a special area offering information regarding sexual health.
