Eye-catching day of the dead fashions

This amazing costume, adorned with marigold flowers, stole the show at the annual Dia de los Muertos parade organized by the Art, Architecture and Design Department of the University of Guadalajara, held in the city center on October 28.

More than 600 people participated in the parade, which featured dozens of catrinas (skeletons) dressed in a multitude of creative costumes.

Guadalajara Civil Protection estimated that more than 15,000 people lined the parade route along Javier Mina and Juárez to the Parque de la Revolución (Rojo). Another Catrinas parade is scheduled Saturday, November 4, 5 p.m. on the Paseo Alcalde in the Guadalajara centro historico.
