Charity golf tourney for kids with cancer

The annual golf tournament that benefits children with cancer being treated at Guadalajara’s Civil Hospital is set for Guadalajara’s Cielo Country Club on Friday, June 7.

A total of 144 golfers are expected to participate, with the entry fee set at 6,500 pesos (includes breakfast, dinner and a practice round). The prizes donated by various sponsors are worth around 4.5 million pesos. A helmet donated by Tapatio Formula One driver Sergio “Checo” Pérez and a pair of gloves signed by world champion Tapatio boxer Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez will be auctioned off. Hospital director Benjamín Becerra said funds raised from the tournament will be earmarked specifically to purchase vital equipment used for ventricular neuroendoscopy.  For information, call Francisco Peña at 33-3880-0440.
