Effective this weekend, new parking restrictions will be applied on two streets in central Ajijic. All parking on the north side of Calle Parroquia, running from the San Andres church to Calle Colon, is now prohibited. Vehicles are allowed on the left-hand side of the one-way street.
Parking on the north side of the street running parallel to the Malecon and Amistad Park, stretching between Colon-Morelos and Pedro Moreno-Aquiles Serdan, will henceforth be prohibited on weekends and holidays as a measure to assure safe and rapid passage of ambulances, police patrols and other emergency vehicles.Motorists are also advised that traffic police will be keeping a close eye on the corner where Guadalupe Victoria dead-ends at Marcos Castellanos. Their aim is to snag drivers trying to take a short cut to the plaza by making illegal left-hand turns onto a one-way street.
