San Juan fisherman stumbles on double homicide scene

A San Juan Cosala fisherman made the grisly discovery of two corpses as he headed towards Lake Chapala lake to board his fishing launch around 7 a.m. Sunday, August 11.

He spotted the half-naked bodies of two males, apparent victims of an execution-style homicide, stretched out near one another at the foot of a willow tree growing near the shoreline.

One of the murdered men was heavy set, about 30 to 35 years of age, the other more sender and in his 20’s. Both were found with their a faces covered by black plastic bags, remnants of packing tape wrapped around their wrists and ankles and other typical signs of torture being afflicted prior to death.

San Juan natives who turned up at the crime scene told authorities the men did not resemble local inhabitants. A forensic team removed the bodies for transport to the Ocotlan morgue and autopsy and official identification was has not been revealed.
