Don’t miss Regalorama, lakeside’s massive holiday sale

Regalorama, the annual fundraising “mother of all bazaars” sponsored by St. Andrew’s Anglican Church will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 6 on the church grounds at Calle San Lucas 19 in Riberas del Pilar.

Hundreds of donated items, including clothing, books, electronics, tools, linens, collectibles, art and Christmas decorations are sold each year. At this sale customers can complete an outfit, a library, their home’s décor or holiday shopping.

Shoppers can keep up their strength for the entire four hours of the sale at the Regalorama Café, which will be serving soup and homemade goodies. The Cruz Roja Damas will be offering a selection of fresh tacos.

The giant 2013 Regalorama sale netted more than 120,000 pesos, which was distributed to a variety of local charities that had applied for funding to complete a specific project.

These applications are reviewed each year. Those benefiting from last year’s sale included the UVA Scholarship fund, Cruz Roja, the Tepehua Center, Love in Action, and the Centro de Desarrollo.

In the months leading up to the sale dozens of volunteers donate hundreds of hours to sort, label, and price the merchandise. Last year 103 volunteers worked at the Regalorama answering questions, tallying purchases and packaging orders.

Additional donations of items to sell, and and volunteers to work the day of the sale are still needed.
