Toyota car up for grabs at Sunrise Rotary golf tournament for women

Chapala Sunrise Rotary Club’s 2015 International Women’s Golf Classic at the Chapala Country Club is set to coincide with the Thursday, March 5 worldwide observation of International Women’s Day. 

The ladies’ tournament is open to amateur golfers of all skill levels. Among the list of prizes is a Toyota car for a hole in one on the fourth hole and a golf cart for anyone making that elusive shot on the eighth hole. There will be prizes for the longest drive, straightest drive and closest to pin.

The event entry fee of 1,200 pesos (with a discount for Chapala Country Club members) includes the green fees, gift bag, continental breakfast, box lunch and awards banquet.

The full slate of activities, displays and information booths begin at 8 a.m. and end with the awards banquet cocktail hour and raffle at 4 p.m. Live music for the 5 p.m. dinner will be provided by Sol y Luna. A 50/50 raffle and a live auction follows. 

The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the  2015 International Women’s Day Achievement Award to an outstanding local woman whose achievements have made a significant contribution to the community

All proceeds from the event are earmarked for Sunrise Rotary Club’s service projects, including the Love in Action Shelter for Children, Have Hammers, Will Travel, student scholarships, San Juan Cosala soccer league sponsorship, Chapala Youth Tennis Team sponsorships, S.A.F.E. educational scholarships for needy children, and the School for Special Children in Jocotepec.
