US criminal suspects captured at Ajijic address

Cooperation between Mexican and United States authorities led to the capture of a man and woman sought by Texas police as suspects of felony theft, and persons of interest in a recent double homicide case.

They were picked up Tuesday, November 5, at an address in Ajijic’s La Floresta subdivision.

On October 27, the remains of James and Michelle Butler of New Hampshire were uncovered from a shallow grave on Padre Island, on the Texas Gulf coast, where they had been camping out during an extended road trip.

While a press release issued Thursday by Jalisco’s Attorney General  did not give the full names of the suspects, Texas authorities identified  the pair as Adam Curtis Williams, 33, and Amanda Noverr. Surveillance cameras spotted Williams driving the dead couple’s truck and RV across the border at Eagle Pass on October 21, with Noverr in the passenger seat.

By Wednesday night Williams had been removed from Mexico and locked up in the Kleberg Country Jail. Noverr’s whereabouts has not been revealed after being detained by Mexican immigration authorities for illegal entry into the country.
