Grisly finds in San Juan Cosalá

A team of Jalisco forensic investigators, aided by a pair of backhoes, has resumed excavations at a clandestine burial site located earlier this year in the mountainous outskirts of San Juan Cosalá.

Although state authorities initially identified the Raquet Club as the location of the half hectare property, local sources confirm that the land presumably used to pasture livestock is actually situated farther west in the vicinity of El Limón.

In February, the decomposed body of a man was discovered at the site. Further exploration for human remains was suspended due to a lack of heavy machinery needed for the rough terrain and subsequent inconveniences of the coronavirus pandemic. According to the latest reports, five more corpses have been extracted since digging was restarted two weeks ago.
