Drive-in movies opening in Chapala

Chapala’s first drive-in movie theater is set to open Friday, August 21, with a double-feature program that will be open to the public free of charge.

Film screenings will take place in the Acapulquito parking lot located east of Paseo Ramón Corona, opposite the Club de Yates and seafood restaurant row. The debut bill starts with a showing of “Toy Story 4” starting at 8:45 p.m., followed at 11:15 by “La Maldición de la Llorona” (The Curse of the Weeping Woman), a 2019 Hollywood horror film based on popular Latin American folk tales.

It has not been announced whether the films will be played in the original English with subtitles or dubbed in Spanish. Check for updates on the Autocinemas del Lago Facebook page.
