Jalisco crime investigators and forensic teams have now discovered human remains at two different clandestine gravesites in the Chapala area.
After digging at an Ajijic property on Camino al Rincón was completed last week, Jalisco’s chief prosecutor revealed that six unidentified corpses and bones have been removed from the site, announced during a November 5 press conference.
He also reported that four more bodies have been discovered so far during excavations initiated Tuesday, November 3 at another property, adjacent to the Chapala-Jocotepec highway in the vicinity of Mirasol.
Processing of the remains is under way to collect DNA evidence that will be used to help identify the dead and assist relatives of missing persons in finding out the fate of lost loved ones.
