Governor takes whirlwind tour of Lakeside projects

Governor Enrique Alfaro  arrived in Chapala bright and early Friday, March 25, to begin an official tour of public works that have been completed and others that will be under way during the current year.

Accompanied by Chapala Mayor Alejandro Aguirre and an entourage of government officials, the governor’s first stop was at the Telesecundaria Guadalupe Victoria junior high school in Santa Cruz de la Soledad that has been fully upgraded with a budget of 5.5 million pesos.

They continued on to the municipal seat where Alfaro introduced the two-year plan to renovate main street, Avenida Francisco I. Madero, followed by a brief stop at the roadside Parque Milagrosa to look over the first leg of the cycling path Ciclovia) that will soon interconnect Chapala, San Juan Cosalá and Jocotepec.

Moving on, Alfaro kicked off the construction of a new classroom module at the Instituto Mario Molina and then inspected remodeling work on the Auditorio de la Ribera complex, which will soon be renamed as the regional Estación Cardinal cultural center.

Next up, the governor headed west to San Juan Cosalá, where he and his party joined Jocotepec Mayor José Miguel Gómez to take a bike ride on the Ciclovía, flag the start of rebuilding the town’s Libramiento bypass, and finally zip over to the south shore to inaugurate the Centro de Salud health clinic in San Cristobal  Zapotitlán.
