Fourteen passengers in a bus transporting personnel from a Jalisco berry farm died after an apparent brake failure caused the vehicle to collide with a wall on the road running between Citala and Tuxcueca, near the southern shore of Lake Chapala Wednesday evening.
The victims were nine males and five females.
According to authorities, the bus’ final destination was Jocotepec.
Of 20 other passengers treated for injuries, three females between 24 and 48 are reported in critical condition. The remaining injured are 14 men and three women from 20 to 55. As of Thursday afternoon, all the injured had been transported to facilities in either Jocotepec or Guadalajara.
