A passenger bus en route from Chapala to Guadalajara ran off the highway and rolled over in the vicinity of Buenavista in the rainy early hours of Thursday, December 7.
First responders from the Ixtlahuacan de Membrillos fire department, Jalisco Civil Protection Unit and Cruz Roja Chapala attended to 11 persons who were injured in the crash. No fatalities were reported.
The Milenio newspaper reported that passengers said the driver fled the scene, although this was not confirmed. The Ixtlahuacán Civil Protection coordinator said the cause if the accident is still unclear and the Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office will lead the investigation.
