Niños Incapacitados’ clinics director to be honored

Nicole Sergent, who oversees Niños Incapacitados’ monthly clinics in Chapala and Jocotepec, has been named Volunteer of the Year and will be recognized for her efforts by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Western-Pacific chapter at a special Philanthropy Day presentation to be held at the Universidad Del Valle de Atemajec (UNIVA) campus in Guadalajara on Wednesday, January 24.

pg15b“AFP is honored to give this recognition to a person as outstanding as you, whose commitment to meet the needs of the most needy has been so important,” wrote Luis F. Pacheco, a past president of AFP, in a letter to Sergent.

“On a daily basis, (Nicole) works to obtain the best medical care that can be had for the children we serve,” said Niños Incapacitados President Lydia Bodin, who has known Sergent for five years and volunteered with her at the clinics. “She manages to do this by forging alliances with other charities, local businesses and various professionals, (at lakeside) and in Guadalajara.”
