The monument honoring famed Mexican composer, poet and musician Pepe Guizar was dismantled this week as part of the Chapala’s Avenida Madero reconstruction project.
The bronze statue of the author of the anthems to Guadalajara and Chapala, among other popular tunes, was created by distinguished sculptor Miguel Miramontes.
It will be reinstalled at the head of a new traffic turn-off onto Avenida Pepe Guizar, the divided four-lane street running through Las Redes.
