LCS Children’s Art Camp celebrates raffle winner

Su Elliott is the happy winner of Ricardo Sánchez Garcia’s “La Vuelta del Jefe” watercolor painting that was donated to be raffled as a benefit for The LCS Children’s Art Program.

When asked how many tickets she had purchased, Su said “only one ... I bought it to support the Children’s Art Program.” A total of 539 tickets were sold.

The ticket was drawn on Friday, April 5 at Sol y Luna. The ribbon-cutting ceremony for an exhibition of the artist’s work took place at 5 p.m. and was followed by a live watercolor demonstration accompanied by an entertaining pianist and singing cellist.

Oscar and his staff at Sol y Luna served food and drinks to attendees, and were attentive to everyone’s needs.
Combined with the cash donations made to the program during the ticket sales, the raffle of the painting raised just over 54,000 pesos after expenses. This ensures that the upcoming Summer Art Camp that runs from July 29 to August 2 is financially secure.

The Children’s Art Program is grateful to Ricardo and his partner, Andy Friend, for this gracious and generous donation. Ricardo is also a volunteer with the program, and will be the Watercolor Workshop maestro for Art Camp. Much appreciation also goes to Eveline Horelle Dailey, who made the arrangements with Sol y Luna.
