Saturday, June 15 was a day of glory for Chapala as its men’s soccer team defeated Tuxpan to earn a slot in the quarter-finals of the 2024 Copa Jalisco tournament.
Chapala won the June 9 home game 1-0, and a week later squeezed through to the next round after edging a penalty shoot-out in the away game.
The first leg of the quarter-final against Tomatlán is set for Sunday, June 23, 4 p.m. at the Campo Municipal Juan Rayo, located at the north end of Avenida Madero.
Chapala’s female squad was eliminated from the Copa Jalisco after falling to Zapotiltic on June 16.
