Three candidates register for election as LCS president

Members of the Lake Chapala Society (LCS) are called to attend an Extraordinary Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 20, 10 a.m., to participate in the election of a new president of the board of directors and vote on proposed amendments to the organization’s Constitution bylaws.

pg11As of this week, three individuals have submitted their names as candidates for board president. They are LCS member Shelley Edson, former LCS Executive Director Terry Vidal and current acting President Yolanda Martínez Llamas.  Additional nominations may be submitted from the floor at the Extraordinary Meeting.

While Martínez strongly defends progress achieved by LCS leadership over the past three years, the other two candidates are pledged to resolving management issues that have spawned recent controversy among members and officers.  All candidates will have an opportunity to express their viewpoints and proposals immediately prior to the voting process.

Current LCS members have the option of registering to attend the Extraordinary Meeting in person on the Ajijic campus at Calle 16 de Septiembre 16-A or via a simultaneous Zoom webcast.
