Non-taxable imported items raised to $500

Mexico’s federal government has raised the upper limit of merchandise that foreigners and Mexican nationals can bring through Mexican airports from 300 to 500 dollars in value.

Those entering by land or at a maritime port may now bring in 300 dollars’ worth of legal items instead of 75 dollars.

The timing of the announcement is good news for thousands of Mexican citizens who will be returning from the United States for the holidays later this month.
