‘Three Amigos’ to meet in Ottawa June 29

U.S. President Barack Obama will attend a Three Amigos leaders summit in Ottawa and address a joint session of the Canadian Parliament on Wednesday, June 29.

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto will join Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for a summit that Stephen Harper postponed in January 2015 amid tensions over various trilateral issues, including the visa requirements for Mexican visitors to Canada.

That hiccup in the relationship has now been fixed, with Trudeau announcing recently that the requirement will be lifted, although he has given no firm date when this might happen.

According to reports in the Canadian media, Governor General David Johnston will host Peña Nieto at a state dinner in his honor at the National Art Gallery.
