The U.S. Department of State has added the state of Zacatecas to its “do not travel” list due to crime and kidnapping,
joining Colima, Guerrero, Michoacan and Sinaloa. Meanwhile, three states—Nayarit, State of Mexico and Coahuila—received an improved Travel Advisory rating that, according to U.S. Ambassador Ken Salazar, was based on a “comprehensive annual review of crime and security in Mexico.”
