Aeroméxico revises Boeing 737 MAXes

Aeroméxico is carrying out reviews of all its 19 Boeing 737 MAX-9 aircraft after a window blew out of an Alaska Airlines flight shortly after taking off from Portland, Oregon on January 5.

A section of the fuselage of the 737, which was carrying 171 passengers and six crew members, also detached from the aircraft. Fortunately, the plane was able to return to Portland safely and no one was injured in the incident.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) subsequently ordered a review of all Boeing 737 MAX-9 aircraft around the world.Aeroméxico employs its MAX 9s on routes in Mexico, and throughout the American continent.

Travelers on Aeroméxico experienced delays this week as the carrier’s fleet—totaling 153 aircraft—was reduced in numbers.
