Aeromexico to increase flights to United States in 2024

On January 8, Aeromexico inaugurated a new daily nonstop flight from Guadalajara to Atlanta, Georgia, a route that until now has been serviced solely by Delta Airlines.

The route will use Embraer E90 planes, with a capacity for 99 passengers.   The flights depart from Guadalajara at 7:30 a.m., reaching Atlanta at 12:15 p.m. The return service leaves at 3:15 p.m. and arrives in Guadalajara at 5:55 p.m.

Atlanta is the largest and busiest airport in the United States and a major connection hub. Almost 94 million passengers traveled through the airport in 2022.

Aeromexico is set to launch 11 new routes between Mexico and the United States in 2024 thanks to its joint cooperation agreement with Delta. The partnership was heavily restricted between 2021 and 2023 due to Mexico’s downgrade to Category 2 by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Category 1 was restored in September 2023.

In March, Aeromexico will begin operating a nonstop route between Guadalajara and Detroit, Michigan. The carrier will launch its first route out of Mexico City’s new Felipe Angeles Airport (NLU) to Dallas, Texas, with daily flights, and another new daily flight from Mexico City International Airport to Boston, Massachusetts.

Also in March, Delta will begin daily flights from Atlanta to Tulum, and in May increase its connectivity from Atlanta to Cozumel from one a week to one daily service.
