Myrna Elizabeth Reid

Myrna Elizabeth Reid died May 11 at her Ajijic home after a battle with cancer at the age of 73.

Born October 8, 1939 in Kenville, Manitoba, Canada, Reid earned her teaching degree at the University of Brandon in Manitoba. After teaching for a few years, she turned her attention too real estate and owned her own successful agency, Joy Realty, in West Vancouver, B.C.

She and her husband, Al Reid, visited Ajijic often, and in 2005 made it their permanent home. Reid was an avid bridge player and a member of several bridge clubs. She also was a fan of golf – not playing it but watching it.

The Reids had an active social life and she said that her best friends were here in Mexico.

She is survived by her husband, Al, her daughter Margo Chapman of Chilliwak, B.C. and son Paul Chapman of North Vancouver, B.C. She had five adored grandchildren, Rob, Riley, Lindsey, Paige and Macie, all in British Columbia.

Reid will be missed by her many friends and associates. The family is grateful for the wonderful care provided by the nursing staff and Myrna’s friends and neighbors.

A celebration of Myrna’s life will be held at a later date.
