The Lakeside Assistance Group is inviting the community to join in celebrating the arrival of its third shipment of firefighting and medical equipment donated by Canadian supporters.
A series of wine and cheese open house receptions are scheduled for Monday, September 19; Tuesday, September 20 and Wednesday, September 23, 1 to 6 p.m., at the group’s new warehouse, Avenida Hidalgo 452, opposite S&S Auto on the highway in Riberas del Pilar.
Guests will be able to view the contents of the 53-foot shipping container that finally pulled into town on September 14.
The huge load of equipment and goods will be distributed among more than 60 fire stations and emergency response units serving communities all over Jalisco.
The supplies were donated by the Winnipeg and Sudbury Fire Departments, the London Rotary Club and the Canadian Cancer Society of Ontario, with a second-hand value of over US$1 million (about 10 percent of purchase price).
