Jalisco to build 5 more cycle paths

Five new bike lanes, 500 additional MiBici bicycles, plus some much-needed maintenance of existing pathways, are coming to Guadalajara.

The project will cost 292 million pesos, 117.9 million of which will go towards constructing 35.44 kilometers pesos of fresh infrastructure alongside Avenidas Ávila Camacho, Revolución, Tonalá, 8 de Julio and Niños Héroes. Supplemental bicycles will cost 72 million pesos.

According to reports, the goal is to connect Guadalajara, Zapopan, Tlaquepaque and Tonalá by 2020. Work on the new bike lanes is slated to begin in June.
