Tapatios regularly like to boast that their city has the most beautiful women in Mexico. Guadalajara’s male denizens rarely get a mention.
Could that change now that one of our native sons has been named the most handsome man in the Americas?
Luis Carlos García Cuadra, a 29-year-old local dentist, last week was voted the Americas champion in the 7th edition of Mister Supranational 2023, a pageant held this year in Nowy Sącz, Poland.
One contestant from each of 34 nations, aged between 18 to 34 years, participated in the event.
García Cuadra also finished in sixth position in the overall competition, which was won by the representative from Spain.
To win his Americas crown, García Cuadra beat out rivals from the United States, Canada, Brazil and Argentina.
He also came in second in the Mister Supra Influencer category, a social media challenge that began on YouTube and Facebook page on July 1. On his Instagram page, García Cuadra said: “God always has a plan, even when we don’t understand his way.”
