Mazatlán getaway up for auction

A week-long vacation to Mazatlán, Sinaloa will be up for grabs at the Lake Chapala Society (LCS) Beer Festival set for Saturday, August 5, 3 to 6:30 p.m.

pg15b copyThe luxury seaside holiday package—with a seven-day/six-night stay at the Reina del Mar boutique B&B and round-trip ground transportation—will be auctioned off during a 5:30 p.m. music break of the beer fest’s Dirty Black Beans dance band. Bidding is open to everyone present at the event.

The trip has been donated by Robert Giacobbi and Diana Shipes as a fund-raiser for the LCS Children’s Art Program. Valued at US$1,400, the excursion booked for September 10 to 16 includes lodging in a spacious air-conditioned room, breakfast service, a guided walking tour of Mazatlán, and a day-trip to Isla de la Piedra.

The suds fest will feature samples and sales of a tempting array of craft beers, along with a cash bar for those who prefer wine or non-alcoholic beverages. The food menu includes brats and steaks on a bun for sale from El Alemán and authentic German pretzels from Vicky’s Sourdough Donuts. The price of admission is 400 pesos.
