After a successful debut in 2022, the Zapotlanejo city council is preparing to once again serve up a mega-sized torta ahogada version of the famous Three Kings Rosca.
The public is invited to sample the concoction free of charge Thursday, January 5, 11 a.m. in the main square of Zapotlanejo.
The aim is make a 130-meter-long rosca, surpassing last year’s effort by 60 meters. The 2024 rosca will use birote bread, 130 kilos of carnitas and 12 kilos of beans. “We expect more than 2,000 people to show up,” said Zapotlanejo Mayor Gonzalo Álvarez Barragán.
